Eva Steinberger - Austria

Born: 21st September 1983, Judenburg ,Austria.
Plays for Grand Prix Tickets, Austria.

Started playing golf in May 1998 and is member of Murtal Golf Club in Spielberg in Austria.

Eva had good results as an amateur and won a number of national and international tournaments. On the 11th of November 2004 Eva turned professional after qualifing for the Ladies European Tour of 2005.

In her first year as pro Eva played in 37 events on the Asian, South African and European Tours. The highlights of 2005 was a 10th place at the South African Open and qualifing for the 2005 British Open. Eva learned a lot in 2005 and had to go back to qualifying school where she finished 12th. This meant Eva had a full tour card for the 2006 Ladies European Tour and hopes for an even better second season.

" I know many tour players now, and many of the golf courses we will play. I am used to the life as a pro and all the travel and hard practice. In 2005 I was worried that I would not to be part of the tour and to lose my place - now I feel very comfortable and know that I am definately part of the tour. The ANZ Australian Open was a very good start in the new season and I was able to play comfortably in the middle of a world class field. I did not really finish that far down the field playing against the likes of to Karie Webb and Laura Davis. Hopefully 2006 will be more successful and I am looking very much to my second year!", said Eva before the start of the European season in Tenerife. 

Eva had her first top ten finish at the Open de Espana where she finished 9th. Eva finished 18th in the Swiss Open but struggled with back problems the following weeks and months. She made cuts at the Portuguese Open, Finnair Masters and Nykredit Masters and kept her tourcard for 2007 by finishing 74th in the Exemption List!
